Automated, Efficient Typesetting

Increased Publishing Impact

Perfect technology for a perfect workflow

Error-Free, Cross-Media Publication

metiTec is an automated software system for typesetting data into an intelligent and dynamic layout. Content can be published in a specific medium or across various media for any output channel without manual intervention or media disruption.

metiTec operates like a media designer which controls the processing speed and automatically typesets data into the required format, for example, print PDF, online PDF, device-specific PDF, HTML5 and EPUB.

metiTec is flexible and easy-to-use. Customer-defined parameters and values are entered in the configuration file, which in turn controls the typesetting process. In addition, the designer can also define rules and allow the software to adjust parameters as required. This ensures an optimal arrangement of texts, images, tables, graphics and diagrams and delivers the highest possible quality of publication without any manual intervention. This also ensures the perfect implementation of highly complex layouts.

"With metiTec, your data gets a made-to-measure outfit which perfects even the most minor detail and accommodates all design requirements."

Claus Dieter Ziegler, Founder.

Workflow of a conventional DTP system

Workflow for metiTec typesetting: In contrast to conventional DTP systems, metiTec eliminates any requirement for post-processing by adhering to pre-defined layout rules.

metiTec not only defines rules for data arrangement and processing but also makes dynamic adjustments to counteract undesired design outcomes so no further layout-related text amendments are required. This is a technological breakthrough which reduces case-related errors and guarantees a higher level of quality than conventional DTP Systems.

Tips for optimised printing

Using accurate data preparation techniques is the best way to ensure an error-free end result. When preparing image files, it is particularly important to consider whether they are intended for print or web applications.

For print: Use 300 dpi resolution, CMYK colour model, appropriate register marks and crop margins (if images are to be cut).

For web: Use 72 dpi resolution and RGB colour model.

To achieve a perfect typesetting, it is also essential to apply a sound knowledge of basic typography when defining the layout rules.
